INP announced on 25th March 2022 that thirteen oil companies submitted documents to the Pre-Qualifying Stage of the Mozambique 6th Licensing Round. The deadline for submission of pre-qualification documents ended on the 25th March 2022.
For pre-qualification, thirteen oil companies submitted documents, namely:
1. AITEO EASTERN EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION COMPANY LTD 2. CHINA NATIONAL OFFSHORE OIL CORPORATION HONG KONG HOLDING LIMITED "CNOOC 3. DISCOVER EXPLORATION LIMITED 4. ENI MOZAMBICO SPA 5. EXXONMOBIL MOZAMBIQUE (OFFSHORE 6) LIMITED 6. JOINT STOCK COMPANY NOVATEK 7. PETRO CHINA INTERNATIONAL IRAQ FZE 8. ONGC VIDESH Limited 9. QATAR PETROLEUM MOZAMBIQUE LIMITED 10. RN ANGOCHE PTE 11. SASOL AFRICA (PTY), LTD 12. SINOPEC INTERNATIONAL ENERGY INVESTMENT LIMITED 13. TOTAL ENERGIES EP NEW VENTURE
Following the process, the National Petroleum Institute (INP) will evaluate the documents submitted by the above companies and those that have met the requirements to move on to the next phase, according to the terms of reference published when the tender was launched, will be invited to submit proposals for the licensing of the 16 areas put up for tender. The list of selected companies will be published on 31st March 2022 on the official Mozambique 6th Licensing Round and the INP website in accordance with the previously established bidding schedule. The bidding phase for the Mozambique 6th Licensing Round closes on the 31st August and the results will be announced on 30th November 2022. View Licensing Round Schedule for key dates. In the interim period, the INP will provide bidders with a physical and virtual Dataroom for viewing relevant technical data that will enable bidding companies to evaluate the petroleum potential of the areas of interest.
