Sasol concludes $311 million deal to sell stake in Mozambique-South Africa gas pipeline

Two state-owned companies in Mozambique and South Africa have completed a $311 million deal to acquire a combined 30% stake in the critical Rompco pipeline that transports gas between the two countries.

This deal will boost the total interest held in Rompco by the two companies from 50% to 80%, split equally.

On 14 May last year, Rompco stakeholder Sasol said it had struck a deal to sell a 30% interest in the pipeline to an acquisition vehicle beneficially owned by a consortium made up of Reatile Group Proprietary Ltd and the Ideas Fund, managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers Proprietary Ltd.
